How to use the resources
The resources are in a recommended order but it’s up to you how you use them. Each contains a downloadable PDF file of the lesson plan, which is designed for printing, plus any accompanying charts for the children. They reflect the resources in your Let’s Count! booklet and can be used both in the classroom and for remote learning. There are also editable PowerPoint slides which you can use to tailor lessons for your pupils and local area. We suggest you begin the programme with the assembly presentation, which you’ll find within resources to use with pupils.

Video to use with lessons
The following best-practice video lessons have been developed by a Primary Maths Specialist at MEI and NCETM Associate. They cover lesson 1 ‘What is the census?’ and lesson 2 ‘NHS and the census’ and can be used in the classroom and for remote learning. You may wish to use the supporting Power Point slides for each lesson (you can download these above) as the additional graphs referred to in the videos are included within these slides.
For optimum viewing, please ensure the videos are in HD. Click on the ‘settings’ cog and click on ‘Quality’ to ensure ‘1080p HD’ is selected. You can then click on ‘Full screen’ to increase the size of the video.
